Listening to the Language of the Bible

Wednesdays at 9:30am online- Hosted by Elaine Frisbie
One of the biggest obstacles to understanding Scripture is failing to appreciate its Jewish, Middle Eastern context. Through careful research, Lois Tverberg equips her readers with tools that transport them across the cultural divide between West and East, between our society today and that of the Bible.
Listening to the Language of the Bible is a guide for discovering the richness of the Scriptures in their Hebraic setting. Please join us as we unpack the meaning of biblical words and phrases for life today. By examining the Hebrew and Jewish cultural context of some of the Bible’s seemingly odd phrases, we will gain insights that clarify and deepen our understanding of the Bible.

Wednesday Night Women's Bible Study

Miracles of Jesus-Jennie Allen

6:00pm Online-Hosted by Jennifer Aldaco-Bermea
Miracles of Jesus explores all four Gospels with teaching from Jennie Allen, Bianca Juárez Olthoff, Jada Edwards, and Sadie Robertson. Discover the ways Jesus healed, provided for, calmed, and resurrected the people he encountered. This seven-session study is about believing in the power of God who can accomplish anything. There’s nothing too big or too small for us to bring to him.
When we take time to learn about the overflowing kindness Jesus demonstrated to all kinds of people through miracles during his time on earth, we realize that he is radically generous, compassionate, and honoring toward all people. As you watch teaching from the places in Israel where Jesus performed miracles and dig into God’s Word, you will end the study in awe of the Messiah who relentlessly seeks, saves, and restores us.

The Acts of Jesus and the Holy Spirit

6:30pm- Hosted by Glen Myers
Online and in person in the Choir room.
Acts is the “sequel” to the Gospel of Luke, picking up with the Resurrection of Jesus, it tells the action-packed stories of the earliest followers of “The Way” that would become Christianity. Actor Joe Boyd explores this ancient tale in a one-man show that utilizes his unique balance of comedy, sincere drama, and historical insights crafted over decades of studying the text and performing on stages across the country. Regardless of what faith background a person has, this story brilliantly shows us that a small group of people can change the world when they have the courage to love others more than themselves.
Join the Mark'sMen as we begin a 5 week journey through the Book of Acts and the beginnings of the early church.
